Social responsibility

NORRES Schlauchtechnik has a long history of responsible behaviour towards the society we live in. We frequently participate in activities that benefit charitable organisations. We are extremely keen to support projects that help the socially disadvantaged, especially when they involve children. We also make an active contribution towards environmental protection.

NORRES Schlauchtechnik makes regular donations to “Noah's Ark”, a charity that describes itself as “a children’s hospice in the region and for the region”. The Ark’s concept, which is the only one of its kind anywhere in Germany, defines two main functions: to offer a haven for incurably ill children and to act as a short-term care centre for youngsters with severe disabilities. The aim is to assist the families concerned by providing professional care and respite for children and teenagers in the Noah's Ark centre. NORRES traditionally makes a donation to this deserving cause at Christmas.

At NORRES, all people are equal. All our staff benefit from the same opportunities. Their ethnic origin, religion, social background, age, sex or disabilities are considered to be irrelevant. NORRES maintains close links with a centre for handicapped people. Disabled staff carry out their work directly on the NORRES site and are therefore fully integrated in the life of the company.

The sustainable use of natural resources is firmly entrenched in NORRRES Schlauchtechnik's daily work processes. The move to our new “Am Stadthafen” facility coincided with extensive investments in eco-friendly production and HVAC technologies. Efficient insulation, double glazing, centrally controlled air conditioning with water chillers and production utilising heat recovery mean optimal protection for the environment. Since taking possession of the new and completely refurbished plant at the port of Gelsenkirchen in 2009, NORRES has succeeded in reducing the consumption of water, electricity and heating fuel dramatically – despite an almost fourfold increase in floor space.

NORRES North America: UL certified hoses

NORRES offers a whole range of UL-institute certified hoses

In many industrial areas fire protection is regulated by high safety regulations, so industrial hoses also subjected by specifications and have to comply them. Therefore, safety should not be neglected by choosing the hose. NORRES offers a whole range of UL-institute certified hoses.
 

NORRES hoses are certified acc. to UL94-HB

The horizontal fire test is used for the HB-classification of a material. It is calculated for a test specimen as a function of the burning rate and taking account of the material thickness. For extraction units, ventilation in vehicles or boats and caravans, or for the use at extraction arms and in explosion hazard areas – the PROTAPE® PUR 301 AS is a well suited option:
  • super-light weight, highly flexible + compressible 3:1
  • abrasion and microbe resistant
  • permanently antistatic wall: electrical and surface resistance <10⁹ Ω
  • flame-retardant according to: UL94-HB & DIN4102-B1
  • in accordance with ATEX 2014/34/EU

For conveying of foods and pharmaceuticals or for the use in mixers, dosing systems or packaging machines, the AIRDUC® PUR 351 FOOD is particularly suitable due to the following properties:
  • highly abrasion resistant and medium-heavy duty
  • microbe and hydrolysis resistant
  • food grade polyurethane, complies with: FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 and 178.2010
  • flame-retardant according to: UL94-HB

Further products certified acc. to UL94-HB: PROTAPE® PUR 330 AS and  PROTAPE® PUR PVC 310, AIRDUC® PVC 341 and 345 and WELLFLEX® PVC 111.
 

NORRES hoses are certified acc. to UL94-V0 and UL94-V2

The vertical fire test is used for the determination of the burning classes UL94-V0, V1, V2. It evaluates both, the burning and afterglow times after repeated flame application and dripping of the burning test specimen. For conveying of granulates and raw material, in use at surface preparation, in use on sweeping machines and road milling machines or at industrial vacuum cleaners – the AIRDUC® PUR 355 AS convinces with:
  • good resistance to oil, gasoline, and chemicals
  • highly abrasion resistant and increased pressure and vacuum resistance
  • permanently antistatic wall: electrical and surface resistance <10⁹ Ω
  • flame-retardant according to: UL94-V2 & DIN4102-B1
  • in accordance with ATEX 2014/34/EU

Especially for ventilation, heating, sand conveying in rail vehicle braking systems and sanitary installation on railways, trams, boats or yachts –  AIRDUC® PUR 352 SE:
  • medium-heavy duty
  • highly abrasion resistant
  • microbe and hydrolysis resistant
  • good resistance to oil, gasoline and chemicals
  • flame-retardant according to: UL94-V0, DIN4102-B1, DIN 5510-2 (S4, SR2, ST2)
