NORRES Group - History

26 July 2021 - NORRES acquires the Baggerman Group, a manufacturer and distributor of industrial hoses, couplings and accessories. This means that the group is represented in all relevant European markets with its own subsidiaries, production facilities or distribution centres - with a unique product range consisting of PE, PU, PVC and rubber hoses as well as extensive connection and fitting technology.

February: NORRES Group continues to be listed in the World Market Leader Index: The "World Market Leader Index" is a large-scale project of WirtschaftsWoche (Handelsblatt MEDIA GROUP) in cooperation with the University of St. Gallen. The group of companies fulfils all criteria of the objective and transparent selection process and is listed in the category World Market Leader - Future Champions.

Sustainability for efficiency and environmental protection: NORRES Schlauchtechnik proves to be an environmentally friendly and future-oriented company: Ecology and economy are anchored as common objectives in the corporate culture and strategy. At NORRES, the recycling of valuable materials has been integrated into the daily work routine. An in-house recycling plant currently reuses about 30% of the scrap produced during production.

Just in time for the start of the new training year 2020, the NORRES Group welcomes a new trainee at its main location in Gelsenkirchen. NORRES Schlauchtechnik is training a new industrial clerk from August.

July: The new product catalogue is published! The new NORRES catalogue provides compact and clear information. The result is impressive: Industrial hoses for all applications and industries are presented on 100 pages. Both the proven products and numerous innovations. The new catalogue concept is innovative and combines the interaction between "print" and "digital".

1st April: Ralf Dahmer becomes the new CEO of the NORRES Group. After many years working for the NORRES Group as Managing Director, Mr Burkhard Mollen has decided to transfer the management of the company to Mr Ralf Dahmer with effect from 01.04.2020. Mr Mollen has moved to the advisory board of the company at this time.

The NORRES Group has now been listed in the World Market Leader Index for the third year running. The Group meets the listed criteria published in the Index, such as at least 50% ownership in the DACH area and, with regard to the world market, operations on at least three out of six continents, either with its own production and distribution companies or by pursuing export activities. NORRES’ share of foreign sales amounts to more than 40%.

NORRES has acquired the Swedish hose distributor Jarl Elmgren AB (“Jarl Elmgren”). The acquisition of Jarl Elmgren is the second acquisition in the history of NORRES after the recent acquisition of De Bernardi. This acquisition is also in line with NORRES' internationalization strategy and represents a significant strengthening of the company's market position.

3rd February: NORRES has acquired the Italian hose manufacturer and distributor De Bernardi. De Bernardi is an Italian hose manufacturer and distributor which is established in the market since 1970.

Innovation in October: AIRDUC^® PUR-INOX 355 FOOD-AS and BARDUC^® PUR-INOX 382 FOOD-AS. Both hose types impress with excellent product properties which were specifically adapted for use in the food and pharmaceutical industries. The enhanced product properties relate to a special version of these two hose types. The special AIRDUC^® PUR-INOX 355 FOOD-AS and BARDUC^® PUR-INOX 382 FOOD-AS types are approved for food categories A, B, C, D1, D2 and E based on self-certification; food grade polyurethane is used according to EU Directive 10/2011 as well as EC 1935/2004 and FDA 21 CFR 177.2600.

New on the market: The NORPLAST^® PUR-C 386 FOOD-AS FDA is a new hose that extends the food and pharmaceutical range. Thanks to its food grade wall and antistatic properties, the hose is ideally suited for use in the food and pharmaceutical industries.

NORRES Group presents product innovation: CONNECT PRESS ASSEMBLY 232. Until now, there were press sleeves made of stainless steel and aluminium with suitable sealing inserts for our hose types AIRDUC^® 355 and 356. The stainless-steel press sleeves are now also available for our BARDUC^® 382 hoses. In addition, press sleeves made of steel for the products AIRDUC^® 355 and 356 as well as BARDUC^® 382 extend the NORRES portfolio.

Successful result in September: NORRES North America Inc. continues on its growth course: The North American subsidiary has grown immensely in the last four and a half years - further growth is firmly planned!

The NORRES Group has extended its TWIN COLOR product series with the AIRDUC^® PUR 355 EC TWIN COLOR. This is the third hose in the AIRDUC^® PUR TWIN COLOR series that can be coloured in two colours in any desired combination.

In March 2019 NORRES receives an award: The NORRES Group is again listed in the World Market Leader Index in 2019 and was also able to achieve the award for this year.

The NORRES Group has expanded its TWIN COLOR product series with the AIRDUC^® PUR 350 AS TWIN COLOR. This is the second hose in the AIRDUC^® series hat can be coloured in two colours and in any desired colour combination.

NORRES offers its customers a special added value at the beginning of the year: the new assembly service! In six steps, the new service allows you to configure the connection part and the suitable hose quickly and easily. Thanks to the new service, a complete hose circuit can be configured in a few moments.

NORRES received the "TOP JOB" award on February 23th in Berlin. The „TOP JOB“ mentor appreciated the NORRES group for its strategic and sustainable assurance for skilled labour and its steady and systematical development of its employers performance. With the “INDUSTRIEPREIS 2018”, Huber Verlag für Neue Medien GmbH honors advanced industrial products that showcase high economic, social, technological and ecological benefits. The NORRES Group applied for this award with one of our most popular selling products our AIRDUC^® PUR 355 AS. The NORRES Group convinced the judges with our AIRDUC^® PUR 355 AS, making it one of the best-placed applications in 2018.

NORRES presents continuous product innovation: CLAMP 210 BRIDGE CLAMP expands the portfolio. The patent pending bridge clamp CLAMP 210 BRIDGE CLAMP can be used for attaching externally corrugated spiral hoses and is suitable for many of our current AIRDUC®, PROTAPE® and TIMBERDUC® hoses. NORRES continues product innovations with the introduction of CLAMP 210 BRIDGE CLAMP.

The NORRES Group received the German Brand Award on June 21, 2018. The award comprehends and awards brands holistically. With its criteria and competition classes, it takes into account the diverse aspects of professional brand management – winning the German Brand Award proves and underlines the NORRES brand capability.

Success at TOP 100: NORRES is one of the innovation leaders in 2018! This was the result of an analysis of the scientific director TOP 100, Prof. Dr. med. Nikolaus Franke. In the independent selection process the NORRES Group impressed with our innovation processes.

NORRES expands the portfolio – NORPLAST^® PUR 385 FOOD. The efficiency of the NORPLAST^® PUR 385 FOOD is primarily achieved by its internal smoothness. The wall is certified food safe according to EU Regulation 10/2011 and EC 1935/2004 and the latest EU Regulation 2015/174 as well as FDA FCN 21 CFR 177.1680 and 177.2600.

VTH elects the Supplier of the Year – and the winner is NORRES! Every year since 1984, VTH – the professional association for industrial distributors in Germany, Austria and Switzerland – has conducted a survey to determine the “Supplier of the Year”; all industrial distributors who are VTH members are invited to assess their main suppliers for a particular product group on the basis of standardised evaluation criteria. The product group chosen for 2018 was “Industrial Hoses (Any Material)”. The distributers not only voted NORRES as their “Supplier of the Year, they also gave NORRES the best result in the 34 year-long history of this award.

The NORRES Group has expanded its portfolio by introducing AIRDUC^® PUR 355 AS TWIN COLOR. The antistatic multipurpose polyurethane hose is the first and only hose in the AIRDUC^® range that can be coloured in two different colours. Every colour combination is possible.

Triton completes the acquisition of a majority stake in NORRES Group! 14 November 2018 – The Smaller Mid Cap Fund advised by Triton (“Triton”) has completed the acquisition of a majority stake in NORRES Group (NORRES). This is a milestone transaction in the company’s history and this partnership will contribute to NORRES’ expansion strategy in its efforts to achieve global market leadership.

NORRES has increased our product availability: The current expansion of the NORRES product range consists of stock levels totalling 25,000m² this enables a larger storage capacity and in return provides our customers a significant value. NORRES products are available in variable quantities, lengths and diameters. In addition, we are able to offer more flexibility to our customers’ requests and this ensures that product is readily available at all times in which we can serve our customers faster! Hence, Five-Meter-Lengths are available from now ex-stock.

NORRES North America: NORRES North America has streamlined their production capacity and upgraded its warehouse capabilities for variable stocking lengths. NORRES has further extended its portfolio of AIRDUC^®, PROTAPE^® and Clamp Profile Hose offerings in North America. In combination with a full scale production facility with multiple lines, most stock products are available at all times. The result: Large orders and urgent demands can be handled promptly, efficiently and delivered in a timely manner..
