Social responsibility
NORRES Schlauchtechnik has a long history of responsible behaviour towards the society we live in. We frequently participate in activities that benefit charitable organisations. We are extremely keen to support projects that help the socially disadvantaged, especially when they involve children. We also make an active contribution towards environmental protection.
NORRES Schlauchtechnik makes regular donations to “Noah's Ark”, a charity that describes itself as “a children’s hospice in the region and for the region”. The Ark’s concept, which is the only one of its kind anywhere in Germany, defines two main functions: to offer a haven for incurably ill children and to act as a short-term care centre for youngsters with severe disabilities. The aim is to assist the families concerned by providing professional care and respite for children and teenagers in the Noah's Ark centre. NORRES traditionally makes a donation to this deserving cause at Christmas.
At NORRES, all people are equal. All our staff benefit from the same opportunities. Their ethnic origin, religion, social background, age, sex or disabilities are considered to be irrelevant. NORRES maintains close links with a centre for handicapped people. Disabled staff carry out their work directly on the NORRES site and are therefore fully integrated in the life of the company.
The sustainable use of natural resources is firmly entrenched in NORRRES Schlauchtechnik's daily work processes. The move to our new “Am Stadthafen” facility coincided with extensive investments in eco-friendly production and HVAC technologies. Efficient insulation, double glazing, centrally controlled air conditioning with water chillers and production utilising heat recovery mean optimal protection for the environment. Since taking possession of the new and completely refurbished plant at the port of Gelsenkirchen in 2009, NORRES has succeeded in reducing the consumption of water, electricity and heating fuel dramatically – despite an almost fourfold increase in floor space.

TIMBERDUC® – Flame-resistant and antistatic
Hoses used in the woodworking industry are exposed to extreme conditions. Continuous operation of the machines is extremely important in professional wood processing. In addition, the extraction of abrasive solids, such as wood dust, demands high safety requirements from all machine parts, including the hoses. For this purpose, the NORRES Group has developed a hose series, that meets these special industry requirements.
TIMBERDUC® PUR 532 CNC – Especially for CNC machines
Hoses used in extraction systems in the wood processing industry must be particularly suitable for the throughput of abrasive materials. Since wood dust or wood chips are flammable bulk materials, an antistatic hose must be used for the extraction. The NORRES Group has developed and optimized technical hoses that withstand these extreme conditions in the wood industry: the TIMBERDUC® Series - including a special hose for CNC machines. The TIMBERDUC® PUR 532 CNC has been specially developed for use on CNC machines and CNC machining centres. It convinces with the best product characteristics: It is highly abrasion-resistant, highly flexible and compressible 4:1, flame-retardant according to DIN 4102-B1 and – like all TIMBERDUC® Hoses – meets the safety requirements of the German Holz-BG. The TIMBERDUC® PUR 532 CNC can be used in a temperature range of -40°C to 90°C, short time to 125°C.
TIMBERDUC® – For the wood industry
TIMBERDUC® PUR 532 AS or TIMBERDUC® PUR 533 AS, are abrasion-resistant, flame-retardant and antistatic. The abrasion resistance and the associated long life service of both hoses confirm their special suitability. In addition to the functionality, the handling of the mechanical part hose is an important factor in everyday use. The TIMBERDUC® PUR 531 AS also is both highly flexible and low weight. Both features also allow an easy handling and quick assembly at the respective extraction system. NORRES TIMBERDUC® PUR 531 AS, 532 AS and 533 AS are flame-retardant according to DIN 4102-B1 and do have permanently antistatic wall with an electrical and surface resistance <10⁹ Ω. In addition, these hose types are certified according to TRGS 727 and ATEX 2014/34 / EU. Also, they meet the safety requirements of the German Holz-BG (trade union of wood working industries).
