Social responsibility

NORRES Schlauchtechnik has a long history of responsible behaviour towards the society we live in. We frequently participate in activities that benefit charitable organisations. We are extremely keen to support projects that help the socially disadvantaged, especially when they involve children. We also make an active contribution towards environmental protection.

NORRES Schlauchtechnik makes regular donations to “Noah's Ark”, a charity that describes itself as “a children’s hospice in the region and for the region”. The Ark’s concept, which is the only one of its kind anywhere in Germany, defines two main functions: to offer a haven for incurably ill children and to act as a short-term care centre for youngsters with severe disabilities. The aim is to assist the families concerned by providing professional care and respite for children and teenagers in the Noah's Ark centre. NORRES traditionally makes a donation to this deserving cause at Christmas.

At NORRES, all people are equal. All our staff benefit from the same opportunities. Their ethnic origin, religion, social background, age, sex or disabilities are considered to be irrelevant. NORRES maintains close links with a centre for handicapped people. Disabled staff carry out their work directly on the NORRES site and are therefore fully integrated in the life of the company.

The sustainable use of natural resources is firmly entrenched in NORRRES Schlauchtechnik's daily work processes. The move to our new “Am Stadthafen” facility coincided with extensive investments in eco-friendly production and HVAC technologies. Efficient insulation, double glazing, centrally controlled air conditioning with water chillers and production utilising heat recovery mean optimal protection for the environment. Since taking possession of the new and completely refurbished plant at the port of Gelsenkirchen in 2009, NORRES has succeeded in reducing the consumption of water, electricity and heating fuel dramatically – despite an almost fourfold increase in floor space.

NORRES modifies its product range: now antistatic as specific standard

Abrasion-proof and antistatic

NORRES Schlauchtechnik starts off its anniversary year 2014 by offering its reliable and solid AIRDUC® PUR 350 MHF AS, 355 AS and 356 AS models as an antistatic version as standard and at no additional cost. This is also valid for the PROTAPE® PUR 301 AS. Not only are all of the hoses antistatic, they are also all highly abrasion-proof. The new hoses have the same continuous conduction properties without migrating antistatics. A property that consolidates the reliability of these hoses in everyday uses, thereby substantially expanding the ranges of application.

Long lifetimes and reliable use

With their long service lives and diverse possibilities of use, the AIRDUC® PUR 350 MHF AS, 355 AS and 356 AS and the PROTAPE® PUR 301 AS not only convince when used with high flow-rates of abrasive substances but also when transporting powder and dust, not to forget fibres and chips. This is due to the flow-optimized wall made of permanent antistatic premium ether-polyurethane and the level of abrasion-proofness that is 2.5-5 times higher than that of most rubber materials. The ensures a longer service life and therefore cost savings in the daily use, especially when abrasive solids flow through  that are frequently transported using these hoses. The fact that these hoses are now available in an antistatic version ex warehouse means that they have an electrical resistance and a surface resistance of < 109 Ω.

New innovations and services

Numerous product and service innovations are planned for the NORRES anniversary year, during which the manufacturer of technical hoses and hose solutions, cable protection systems and environmental solutions will be celebrating its 125th year. The ball will start rolling by additing to the range of specific hoses from the successful product portfolio so that they will then have antistatic properties. In this segment, NORRES has for many years been working on high quality additives for the raw materials which as non-migrating antistatic agents ensure the constant conductability and in turn, the manufacturer’s quality standards.
