Social responsibility

NORRES Schlauchtechnik has a long history of responsible behaviour towards the society we live in. We frequently participate in activities that benefit charitable organisations. We are extremely keen to support projects that help the socially disadvantaged, especially when they involve children. We also make an active contribution towards environmental protection.

NORRES Schlauchtechnik makes regular donations to “Noah's Ark”, a charity that describes itself as “a children’s hospice in the region and for the region”. The Ark’s concept, which is the only one of its kind anywhere in Germany, defines two main functions: to offer a haven for incurably ill children and to act as a short-term care centre for youngsters with severe disabilities. The aim is to assist the families concerned by providing professional care and respite for children and teenagers in the Noah's Ark centre. NORRES traditionally makes a donation to this deserving cause at Christmas.

At NORRES, all people are equal. All our staff benefit from the same opportunities. Their ethnic origin, religion, social background, age, sex or disabilities are considered to be irrelevant. NORRES maintains close links with a centre for handicapped people. Disabled staff carry out their work directly on the NORRES site and are therefore fully integrated in the life of the company.

The sustainable use of natural resources is firmly entrenched in NORRRES Schlauchtechnik's daily work processes. The move to our new “Am Stadthafen” facility coincided with extensive investments in eco-friendly production and HVAC technologies. Efficient insulation, double glazing, centrally controlled air conditioning with water chillers and production utilising heat recovery mean optimal protection for the environment. Since taking possession of the new and completely refurbished plant at the port of Gelsenkirchen in 2009, NORRES has succeeded in reducing the consumption of water, electricity and heating fuel dramatically – despite an almost fourfold increase in floor space.

NORRES doubles production capacity

2015 initiation of investment programme

NORRES, the hose manufacturer from Gelsenkirchen Schalke, has started the first quarter of 2015 with a two year investment programme totalling € 2.7 million in order to double its machinery park and capacity. This will result in even shorter delivery times and lower cost manufacturing: decisive advantages which NORRES will pass on to its customers.

Targeted growth to the benefit of the customer

From the start of 2015 onwards, NORRES will be making a strong investment in its operational capacity for two years. The goal of the investment is to double the firm's production capacity. For the NORRES customers and partners this means additional advantages: manufacturing that is more efficient, and shorter delivery times. As explained by the NORRES Managing Director Burkhard Mollen: "We want to grow with our customers on a targeted basis. Our planned investments and the innovations and services from recent months will provide our customers the necessary tools for this. It is important that our customers continuously work together with us on a successful basis. We can only achieve fundamental advantages together." The investment in new production systems and technology will be worth it. The extended manufacturing will be more modern and above all faster. This will enable more processes to be optimised so that lower cost manufacturing is possible in the future. Additional production lines will also be available for customer-specific solutions. In combination with our in-house research and development departments as well as the plant and mechanical engineering, NORRES will be able to respond to customer needs even more flexibly. Many innovations have come about in this way in the past.

New customer services, warehouse extension and further internationalisation

The investment programme will ensure the continuation of the NORRES path of operational excellence. Last year, in our anniversary year, the new products and services which were introduced and the extension of the materials warehouse enhanced the efficiency and therefore reduced the costs on the customer side. NORRES is also supporting its customers with their worldwide expansion and has therefore recently been achieving international growth. The NORRES Group now has seven locations worldwide, and manufactures at three global plants. NORRES recently announced the opening of its first location in North America, NORRES North America Inc. in South Bend, Indiana. The facility in Indiana offers original equipment manufacturers country-wide storage and manufacturing systems. "The new markets in Asia and on the American continent are important to our business. They will support us and our customers with our growth plans," informs Mollen.

The investment programme will enable the medium sized company, with its superb combination of tradition and progress, to be able to offer its business partners a complete package of high quality products, technical innovations and an excellent service.
