Social responsibility
NORRES Schlauchtechnik has a long history of responsible behaviour towards the society we live in. We frequently participate in activities that benefit charitable organisations. We are extremely keen to support projects that help the socially disadvantaged, especially when they involve children. We also make an active contribution towards environmental protection.
NORRES Schlauchtechnik makes regular donations to “Noah's Ark”, a charity that describes itself as “a children’s hospice in the region and for the region”. The Ark’s concept, which is the only one of its kind anywhere in Germany, defines two main functions: to offer a haven for incurably ill children and to act as a short-term care centre for youngsters with severe disabilities. The aim is to assist the families concerned by providing professional care and respite for children and teenagers in the Noah's Ark centre. NORRES traditionally makes a donation to this deserving cause at Christmas.
At NORRES, all people are equal. All our staff benefit from the same opportunities. Their ethnic origin, religion, social background, age, sex or disabilities are considered to be irrelevant. NORRES maintains close links with a centre for handicapped people. Disabled staff carry out their work directly on the NORRES site and are therefore fully integrated in the life of the company.
The sustainable use of natural resources is firmly entrenched in NORRRES Schlauchtechnik's daily work processes. The move to our new “Am Stadthafen” facility coincided with extensive investments in eco-friendly production and HVAC technologies. Efficient insulation, double glazing, centrally controlled air conditioning with water chillers and production utilising heat recovery mean optimal protection for the environment. Since taking possession of the new and completely refurbished plant at the port of Gelsenkirchen in 2009, NORRES has succeeded in reducing the consumption of water, electricity and heating fuel dramatically – despite an almost fourfold increase in floor space.

Long service life especially for demanding use
NORRES hoses offer special suitability for agriculture
Hoses are deployed in various areas of agriculture. Their requirement: long service life during the seasonally determined employment of labour under continuous loads, and easy to handle. This means: flexible at almost all temperatures and in all kinds of weather. In agriculture, time is money, and, especially during the work-intensive phases during sowing and harvesting, farm operators depend upon machines functioning smoothly together with all of their component parts, such as hoses.
Decisive Properties for Hoses
A hose’s properties, such as flexibility in the cold, and resistance to microbes, UV light and ozone, are decisive for deployment in agriculture as well as crucial for the service life of the hose. In particular, during the sowing and harvesting periods in the spring and autumn, frequent temperature variations occur, so that the properties of a hose such as flexibility in the cold are especially important here. At the same time, the hose must be reliable at high temperatures in summertime. The range of qualitatively high-grade plastic hoses such as those NORRES offers encompasses microbe-resistant and cold-weather flexible hoses which are usable for the demanding requirements of agriculture in machinery for sowing or other applications. They are especially suitable for a high flow-rate of abrasive substances and also for rapid rates of flow that arise during harvest time.
Flexible Qualities
Hoses made of artificial materials from quality manufacturers such as NORRES are considered demonstrably flexible at different temperatures and in the cold, and are offered made out of Pre-PUR® with a spring steel-wire spiral moulded tightly into the wall, as well as made of soft PVC which is flexible in the cold, with an embedded hard-plastic coiling made of hard PVC.
Among the soft PVC hoses with particular suitability for agriculture are the NORPLAST® PVC 388 SUPERELASTIC, NORPLAST® PVC 379 GREEN SUPERELASTIC and NORPLAST® PVC 389 SUPERELASTIC. All three hose types consist of high-grade soft PVC that remains flexible in the cold, and they are smooth on the inside. In addition there is good UV and ozone resistance, which makes the hoses equally suitable for outdoor use and their use recommended for irrigation as well as for the conveyance of insecticides or fertilisers. The hoses are strongly resistant to both alkaline and acid. The hard plastic coiling embedded in the walls makes above-average duration of use possible, and has proved itself in demanding applications.
Extensive Mechanical Strength
The Premium Polyurethane (Pre-PUR®) used by NORRES offers an alternative to soft PVC. The AIRDUC® PUR 355 made of Pre-PUR® exhibits only slight abrasion, for example, and possesses extensive mechanical strength and good resistance to UV light. Properties which assure that the service life of a hose is noticeably increased. In addition, the premium polyurethane Pre-PUR® lends the hoses the desired excellent flexibility in the cold. This results in lessened bending load and a reduced risk of kinking at lower temperatures. Both the AIRDUC® PUR 355 and the AIRDUC® PUR 351 MHF are smooth on the inside and optimised for fluid flow. The advantage for the agricultural machinery being used: The material being conveyed is transported gently.
NORRES hoses made of Pre-PUR® and soft PVC with special suitability for agriculture offer, due to their properties, a long and reliable service life as well as operational dependability
